I have installed the new OpenSuse 12.1 (64 bit) DVD. But I can't setup Paralles tools. Is it just too new? Here the error log: Installierte Pakete lesen ... Which version of Parallels are you using? The latest available build is 7.0.15052. EDIT: I just downloaded OpenSUSE 12.1 (openSUSE-12.1-GNOME-LiveCD-x86_64) and installed it using 7.0.15052. Everything appears to be working fine.
I have the same problem here. I did a full KDE install from the latest OpenSuSE DVD, and upon installing the parallels tools I run into exactly the same issue. I have the 64bit version installed with BTRFS as main filesystem. But I assume the tools simply are not ready for the kernel revision of this release.
Yes, I did install Parallels Tools. As mentioned I was using the Gnome version, so maybe it is KDE related. I'll give that a go this evening. EDIT: I downloaded openSUSE-12.1-KDE-LiveCD-x86_64 and installed Parallels Tools. Everything is fine.
I have it! Even if I had version 7 of Parallels, strictly the latest, meaning version 7.0.15052 is required! It was not mentioned in the knowledge base, that this update brings support for Kernel 3.1.
Ok updating was really the resolution to the problem. The tools now have installed. Thanks for pointing out that a new version was out.
