Hi, couldn't find how to report the bug officially, so I'll post here. Just found an annoying issue which may stop me from using Parallels Desktop. I have 2 hard drives in my 2011 BTO iMac - one is SSD and it's primary, another one is Hitachi 2 Tb used for the data. I set the Mac Os X power management to send the disks to sleep after 3 minutes, but it was not working as intended - the secondary disk was starting to spin again very frequently, even if it's unmounted.

Finally after Googling on issue I found other users tell the reason is Parallels daemon, constantly running in Mac OS X even if Parallels is not running at all. It checks something on HDDs every some minutes and does not check whether the drive is sleeping. so it wakes the drive up.

I uninstalled Parallels and my issue has gone - the disk is sleeping and not waiking up without reasons, like before.
That's important for me, cause Hitachi drive is not silent when ON and a bit annoying.

So to the moderator - please forward this issue to developers, I think it's very easy to fix. I hope to enjoy Parallels again after this issue will be fixed.

    partially fixed

This bug seems to be partially fixed now. But anyway, when Parallels is starting up, it spins the sleeping secondary HDD up, EVEN WHEN UNMOUNTED, which for sure has no sence. It would be very nice to fix it or at least give user the option to disable that.
Parallels team, please forward this suggestion to developers and thanks for fixing this problem at least partially. Hope this will get better!

    not fixed

hmm it was too fast to count this bug fixed. PARALLELS TEAM, ARE YOU READING THIS FORUM?
I've found the bug is partially caused by the agent daemon, which is sharing Mac and Windows apps. If you disable sharing apps between Mac and Windows in all virtual machines, it helps a bit, but anyway Parallels activates the sleeping secondary HDD too often!!

    please fix it!!!!
