I seem to have borked my virtual installation of Windows 7 on my MacBookPro by following some instructions to "Change Windows 7 Taskbar Thumbnail to List View Threshold" while attempting some tweaks.

    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/75804-taskbar-list-thumbnail-previews-mode-change.html

I can't find the original URL but basically instead of step 6 here for "Close regedit" the author of my article suggested:

"Now close regedit and click the start button, hold down the Ctrl and Shift Key and Right Click an empty area to get an exit explorer entry. This exist Explorer gracefully, instead of killing it in Task Manager. Then hold down Ctrl + Alt + Del and click start Task Manager, then File > New Task (Run) and type Explorer and OK."

I got the "Exit Explorer" entry but now my Windows 7 install looks like this (yes, the Virtual Machine is on and it doesn't matter if I turn it off or on it looks like this):

Windows 7 Forum suggests I do a restore but of course I can't get to the Start Menu so I can't restore.

Any ideas? Do I run a Time Machine Restore on the whole computer? I guess this will only fix it if I didn't exclude the Virtual Machine from the Time Machine backup which of course I think I did...

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

I had a suggestion to get to the Run command from the Windows Keyboard key.

Anyone know if there is a mac equivalent for this so I can get there and try that?

    thanks.
