I just bought a LACIE RUGGED 160 GB USB ext. Drive and CANNOT COPY winxp.hdd the strange thing is that it starts to copy and after a while an error comes up 1309.

Tried to zip it to winxp.hdd.zip but no results. I do not think its my LACIE cause managed to get all 30GB off files from another pc.

    Anyone can help with this?

    Yours Sincerely

is the lacie formatted FAT32 ?

isnt 32GB the maxium theorectical single file size under FAT32?

    this is probably your problem.

of course the problem is converting it to ntfs means OSX cant read it properly IIRC

The largest single file size that you can copy is either 2 or 4 GB, I do not remember which. To save the .hdd image to another location, goto File, Clone in Parallels without the VM running. You can then save the image to the USB Drive.

    No results.

I cloned it with no results. It did moved on with copying and a new error 76? came up.
It copied 4gb of the winxp.hdd file. What next? Format it to what? I am using a MacbookPro Core 2 Duo 2.66 3gb ram. Invested in this machine a lot to make life and work better. Does this have to do with the format of the MACS? And thanks for the quick reply.

    Yours, Ori

Or, format the drive to an HFS+.

    Ok

Formatting the drive to HFS+ solved the problem. Thank you for your advice.
