New at this, so this may have already been answered somewhere in forums, but I have searched and can not locate an answer.

I can open Parallels on but can not get XP Home Edition to start. I just get the initial XP Home screen with the status bar and then the status bar will be going along find, then go fast, then stop and then it repeats this process over and over.

I have the latest version of Parallels for Mac runing on a new MacBook Pro.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Try to use the Windows XP Setup program to repair the installation.
    1. Use the Windows XP CD-ROM to start your VM(Change boot sequence to CD-ROM,Hard Disk,Floppy). On the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to set up Windows XP.
    2. Press F8 to agree to the license agreement.
    3. Use the ARROW keys to select the Windows XP installation that you want to repair, and then press R.

Windows XP Setup repairs the installation files, Windows XP automatically restarts, and then the Setup program finishes the repair of your Windows XP installation.
    4. Follow the remaining steps to set up Windows.

Thanks Sator, it looks like that did the trick and I have it back working again.

    Greatly appreciated.
