I just installed Parallels and windows xp pro on my MacBook Pro and have a very weird problem.

The only way i can get the mouse and keyboard into windows is if i click on the little usb icon at the bottom right of the parallels window and choose Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad.

When i do this it works great except for 1 thing, I cant release the mouse, nothing works.

The MacBook eventually gets tired and goes to sleep while im windows and i can do nothing about it...all the controls are in windows.

i have to shut windows down to give mouse/keyboard control back to Mac.

    What have i done wrong?

It sounds as if you never installed the Parallels Tools. With Windows running in Parallels, go to the Actions menu (in the Mac menu bar) and select Install Parallels Tools. Wait while it all installs, and go through a restart of Windows. You should then have seamless mouse and keyboard use between the two operating systems.
