I'm running Parallels 6 on OSX Lion. Within Parallels, I have two Windows VMs, both running Windows 7, one of which is the Bootcamp Partition. I cannot initiate a Remote Desktop Client connection from either Windows VM to their destination. RD will connect, and show me a login prompt, but the login will fail. Usually, it is the "The system could not log you on..." message. Once more, this is connecting FROM my Parallels VM to a far-and-away remote server. Curiously, others can connect to the destination machines, even using my credentials. Curiously still, if I reboot into Bootcamp directly, rather than accessing it via Mac/Parallels, then the Remote Desktop connection works flawlessly. I've tried using Parallel's Shared Network configuration (Parallels provides the VM's IP) and the Bridged Network configurations (My router provides the VM's IP). No luck. I've also tried disabling both the Windows and Mac firewalls. Still no luck. And I keep turning back to the fact that if I boot directly in to Bootcamp, Remote Desktop works fine. Any ideas?
I am having that exact same issue. I have the same setup except that I'm running Parallels 7 from OSX Lion. If I use the RDC from bootcamp, no problem, but trying to use RDC from within Parallels 7 give me the same issue: get a login prompt and then the login fails..etc.
