    I'm a newbie. I've had Parallels 7 running on my new Macbook Pro for about a week now and, all of a sudden, I can no longer hide the Windows taskbar in Coherence mode. When alt-click the Parallels icon and select View, the Show Windows Taskbar selection is grayed out. In the past, there used to be a Hide Windows Taskbar selection if the taskbar was showing.

    Any suggestions?

    Please try to reinstall Parallels Tools from Virtual Machine menu --> reinstall Parallels tools

    i tried your suggestion and the reinstall completed successfully, but it did not fix the problem. In Coherence mode, in the View menu, "Enter Full Screen", "Show Windows Desktop" and "Show Windows Takbar", among others are all grayed out

    I have subsequently uninstalled and re-installed Parallels Desktop and the problem remains.

    For the Mac uninstall, I used the uninstall app in the dmg folder, followed by the terminal commands described here: http://kb.parallels.com/en/112189, followed by the deletion of all remaining Parallels folders I could find on the Mac HD (note I don't have access to Mac hidden files).

    On the Windows side, in Bootcamp, I ran the Parallels uninstall followed by the deletion of all Parallels folders and log files, including the hidden ones.

    All to no avail. Also, the Windows Apps are no longer showing up on the Dock with this install although I have that selected in Configure/Oprions/Applications/Show Windows Applications Folder in Dock. Looking for suggestions.

    I have upgraded Snow Leopard to Lion, but the problem persists. Has Parallels never run into this problem before?

    Hello there,

    try this:

    Hold Command+Options and click on Parallels Icon(two red Parallel Lines) on the top Mac menu bar.

    Select view-->Hide Windows Task Bar.

    This must resolve the issue.

    I suggest you to contact support. They will be able to investigate the issue in place.

    go to www.parallels.com/support
