Which files folders are needed in order to restore a full operational copy of a VM? Just the .PVS and .HDD files? Anything else?

In addition to making backups, I would like to keep a sort of "base" install of Windows that I could use to quickly branch out different environments (for example, one with SP2, one without, one with IE 5.5, one with IE6....etc). Can I just copy and rename an existing VM to create a duplicate?

I just use the PW menu option to "Clone VM" (from the VM menu when the VM guest is Off or Suspended).

If the Vm you are copying has been suspended, then there will also be a .sav file.

Awesome...what about making a backup? Which files need to be saved?

I only have two files... .hdd and .pvs ... if its suspsended, you'll need the .sav file. However, I messed up on one of my vm Windows XP guest OS installs, and simply copied the HDD file over to a new VM, everything was intact with just the HDD file.
