    Hi,

I am using Parallels Desktop 7 running a Windows Server 2008 R2. My keyboard preferences are Swedish. The Parallels Tools installer installs a keyboard driver that does not work for special chars (like '@', giving me a headache trying to log on after install). I partially resolved the problem by installing a standard Swedish keyboard in windows. The problem i have is that the keyboard driver installed by parallells tools is default driver and i need to constantly switch to the working keyboard driver when switching between windows. The Remove-button for the parallels keyboard driver is grayed out. Is there any way to remove the faulty parallels tools driver?

    Thanks!

I suggest you not to remove Parallels keyboard driver as you won't be able to use keyboard without it at all. Swedish layout is not supported yet but you can try to map the special characters using Parallels Desktop > Preferences > Keyboard mapping. or try this kb http://kb.parallels.com/en/111434

Thanks for the reply. The default windows keyboard driver works. Before installing parallels tools the keyboard worked. Also, swedish keys worked in parallels 6 even with parallels tools installed. Something broke.

Ok, found out that i needed to select the standard keyboard driver as default in drop-down (Control Panel > Region and Language > Keyboards and Languates > Change keyboards... > Default input language) and then i was able to uninstall the parallels driver. All is good :)
