Good evening. Since the latest update 7.0.15052 there is a new icon on the Launchpad called "Parallels Service" which has the same image/icon as the "Parallels Desktop".

The recent update to 7.0.15054 hasn't changed this.

If you click on "Parallels Service" then nothing happens. One cannot remove the icon because there is no corresponding application in the Application folders on root and on user/applications. The file is located in /Library/Parallels/Parallels Service.app.

I have searched a lot in the internet but there has been no discussion about this new icon. I would love to get rid of it. It shouldn't be there.

Thanks for reading this thread and if you have an idea, then please let me know.

    Best regards

    Valentin.

I also have the same icon appearing in Launchpad. I came here hoping to find a fix.

The solution is rebuilding the Launchpad

    This worked for me:

    1. Launch Finder window.

    2. Navigate to the location by clicking Go -> Go to Folder and type "~/Library/Application Support/" without quotes.

    3. You will find 'Dock folder'(take a back up of this folder or copy paste on desktop), right click on the folder Dock and click Move to Trash.

    4. Log off from the Mac machine, relogin and empty Mac Trash.

    Best regards
