I have my VM set to automatically pause Windows if no Windows applications are open. When I resume from pause, it used to always return to a ready-to-use state immediately (ie, within a second). As of a few weeks ago (and since the latest Parallels update), when I resume, it often will briefly flash a screenshot of a session from some time prior to when it was paused (will actually show applications that are no longer open in Windows) and then the display goes blank for a second and then the proper Windows desktop is displayed, after which it takes a few more seconds to be able to interact with it. Overall the process takes 10 to 15 seconds typically. Any ideas as to what could have changed to cause this?
I suggest you to reinstall Parallels Tools from Virtual Machine menu - Reinstall Parallels Tools. It should be the reason
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it and it does seem to happen less but still happens occasionally, so not sure to what extent this has resolved the problem. Will see how it goes from here.
Parallels displays Windows Screen shots when resuming I have been having the same problem. It's disturbing to have screen shots of apps you were using (but had been closed) display on the screen when you click to resume Windows. Especially if you were doing financial, emails, or other confidential work. Parallels support has had me reinstall the Virtual machine, reinstall Tools, but if anything, the problem is now worse.
