I used to be able to use coherence successfully with lion and parallels 6, and then all of a sudden it stopped working properly. Now, windows applications no longer appear in the dock nor in the application switch list when using cmd+tab. The applications are running and do have real windows, they just seem to be hidden from the dock and switch list. This makes it near impossible to use parallels in this mode, requiring all windows to be minimised or moved out of the way in order to get back to the windows window. I have tried all of the following things, with no success:

    1. upgraded to parallels 7
    2. reinstalled parallels 7
    3. removed bootcamp partition and reinstalled windows in virtual partition
    4. checked apps are not being launched with elevated permissions
    5. removed or turned off any firewalls or network filters
    6. reduced UAC settings in windows to minimum
    7. updated all osx software
    8. Searched through and toggled many preference and vm config settings (couldn't see anything obvious)

This suggests to me that there is something in lion which is causing this problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

Some other info which may be relevant:

    1. When in crystal mode, even the parallels application in hidden from cmd+tab (I can't remember if this is intentional)
    2. When crystal mode is deselected, the parallels application is visible when cmd+tab'bing between apps. If you tab to this app, you can then switch between windows apps using alt+tab. One of the apps in this list is the windows desktop, which doesn't seem to be consistent with a coherence type mode!
    3. When in full screen mode the parallels app is visible to cmd+tab, but any open windows apps are still not visible.

Turns out this was down to my home folder not having the correct permissions. Changing owner to your user fixes this issue.
