I looked at past threads on this subject and have tried the following:

    1. Set the power management in Windows Control Panel to "Maximum Performance" rather than "Parallels".
    2. Set "Optimization" in the VM configuration to "Faster VM" and Power to "Better Performance".

Yet still sometimes I go back to look at my document in my Windows full-screen and all I see is the grey "Click to resume".

    What am I missing?

In your VM configuration under the Options tab, in the Applications category, is "Pause Windows when no applications are open" turned on? Try turning it off.

That was it. Except I didn't turn it on. I have no idea how it got turned on. But thanks!
