I created some desktop shortcuts [Word, Excel]. Worked well. The next day - after starting Parallels Desktop - they had gone. How do I make them remain permanently?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Can you give us more information as on which desktop the icons are missing?
And which version of Parallels Desktop you are using?

    I hav eethe same issue

Running Snow Leopard 10.6 and Windows 7 on the Parallels deskopt (Full screen in windows). But when I exit out of the windows desktop, I get "ghost" icons on the dock, and cannot launch individual windows apps, I have to run in full screen, no coherence mode. Any ideas?

I reckon that you probably made reference on a drive that was not attached anymore. That would be the only reason why this would happen. The ghost icon is trying to target a location that you set earlier but it can not access the target anymore.

This is probably because you used something inside parallels. When you switch out with parallels turned off, there will be no way to access it.
