    Hello,

I need to upgrade from Parallels 5 to 7 but I'm wondering a few things:

Do I have to reinstall my version of Windows and start from scratch with the Parallels install?

I have third party software (not virus-related) installed in Windows that I can no longer obtain with ease. Will these programs need to be re-installed? Basically, will my Windows install have to be started all over again or....?

Sorry that these are newbie questions - I'm totally new to doing this on my own. :)

No, you shouldn't need to reinstall. Parallels will convert your existing virtual machine (i.e. Windows installation) so that it will still work. Oddly enough, I've had problems with new machines which I created with version 7, but no problems at all with existing machines that were created with version 4!
