    Hi!

I just wanted to say that the latest update, only a week or so after the pre-release, is fantastic. It resolves the "slow external displays" issue on Windows. It also fixes the issue where dragging windows between screens would cause them to disappear or snap to locations other than specified.

Additionally (!), if you have an rMBP, external displays no longer appear at double DPI. They appear to have resolved this by telling Windows that the external display is actually twice its native resolution. This causes Windows to render at double resolution (and double DPI, since that's set for the Retina display), and then scale down to the screen's native resolution. For example, a 24" 1920x1200 display shows up in Windows as a 3840x2400 display. Windows renders at 3840x2400 @ 2x DPI (due to Retina display scaling), and things are then scaled down to 1920x1200; this gives you native resolution, but without the 2x DPI scaling. I originally thought that I saw some aliasing due to this method, but I'm no longer convinced that's the case. It looks great. :)

I hope that all makes sense.

Anyway, thanks for the quick and excellent update, Parallels.

Accolades to Parallels for quick and professional technical support. I recently had a problem using Time Machine after upgrading to version 8. They followed up with several emails and even a phone call when I did not promptly respond to their emails. They provided a solution within a few days and then followed up after that to make sure my problem was resolved. Impressive when compared to the customer service model many companies are adopting now days where it is practically impossible to communicate with a live person.
