Hi all, I recently upgraded my PD7 to PD8. But PD 8 only supports the german apple keyboard and not the IBM keyboards (also: it gives Error 68 when i don't have an apple keyboard in my list!!!!) So i would like to do a downgrade back to 7 where everything worked fine. Is this possible without problem or do i have to reinstall windows?
It is possible If you downloaded from Parallels you should have your list of Parallels license keys in your account. If you still have one for Parallels 7 then all you have to do is download it, uninstall PD8 and install PD7 again. I myself keep a copy of PD7 which I use on a Flash drive because once the next version comes out its a bit harder to find the previous version to download.
Were you having the issue that PD8 always resets the keyboard layout as soon as you click into the VM window? I am having this issue but can't downgrade to PD7 to resolve it, as I am relying on some features of PD8. Hopefully it will be fixed soon then. It's a pain as I want to sometimes set it to "British - Microsoft" but PD8 forces it back to "British" as soon as I click into any VM...grrr!
Yes it sounds like the same issue. OSX always puts at least one of the "Latin" layouts inside the List of available Keyboards. You can still set your Layout inside the Guest OS, however this was no option for me since it still switches the Layout for the Host OS. In my case this was no real solution since i need xCode,Eclipse and VS for my work, but it might be ok for others, since the majority of keys are equal in both Layouts.
