I hope someone can help. Every since I upgraded from P7 to P8 I have been have some major issues mainly revolving around window management.

In P7 I would open a VM, in this case Win 7, and the VM would open a new OS X desktop and be in full screen. I had Use All Displays In Full Screen flagged and thats how it would open, both screens in Win 7 up (extended desktop). When I would shut down the VM it would shink to winow size on the main desktop and close the 2nd OSX desktop. At that point I could leave the window up incase I needed to startup again or I could quit paralleles.

In Win 8 the VM starts starts the same, windows full screen on its own desktop. The problem is that when I shut down the VM instaed of shrinking to a window on the main desktop it remains full screen on the second desktop. Both screens are gray with the click to start windows symbol. At this point I try to us the dropdown menu to exit full screen but all options are grayed out. I then try to us the exit full screen option OS X has in the upper right hand cornor and it doesnt respond.

I have one option to get rid of the grey screens, I have to quit parallels. Now this is a problem since I usally have other VMs up I dont want to crash. Yes, I can take the effort to pull it out of full screen before I shutdown but I can honestly see no reason the program responds this way.

The other thing that is causing havok is that when my mac goes to sleep it is killing the network connection in whatever flavor of VM I am running. I have checked every setting under the sun in windows and P8 and I cant get it to stop. I run a lot of tasks in the VMs that run very long periods of time and my only option is to make sure the Mac never goes to sleep. This never, never happened in P7.

I am to the point that P8 is unusable for my needs, the screen thing should bug everyone though. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Unless someone can tell me how to correct this issues I have to move back to P7 and kiss the $50 goodbye.

Is there any effect on the bootcamp partion loading the P7 parallels over what P8 put on?

well I resolved all of the issues I had been experiencing.

Step 1- Booted into Boot Camp and uninstalled Parallels tools
Step 2- Uninstall Parallels 8 (using a program called "AppCleaner" since I couldn't seem to find an uninstall like P7 had)
    Step 3- Reinstall Parallels 7

All VM window behavior is back to normal and I let my mac go into sleep for a couple of hours and when I woke it up the network connection had not been lost.

Parallels has always been one of the best applications I had on my Mac. It always worked perfectly. So at the moment I am experiencing two things. The first is relief that all is back to normal and two is anger. What did I spend $50 dollars on?
