I'm using the latest version of Parallels Desktop 7 with a fully-patched Boot Camp installation of Windows 7, on a Mac OS X Lion system. When I shut down Windows 7 inside Parallels, it goes to the blue "Shutting down..." screen, and then sits there forever (overnight, even) until I select "Stop" from the menu at the bottom-left of the Parallels window. When I boot directly into Windows, it shuts down just fine. Why won't Windows 7 ever finish shutting down inside Parallels, and how do I fix this?
Still happening. Annoying, but easy enough to work around (I just quit Parallels while it's still shutting down).
When I get this problem, shutting down Parallels desktop doesn't help. When I restart it, Windows goes right to the shutting down screen and stays there. Any ideas?
I have the same problem, shutdown hangs I was told to repair windows. I've got the repair disk but am still trying to figure out how to repair and if that is even the problem. If anyone knows how to fix this, please post it here. (Reinstalling Parallels Tools did not help.) Jerry
