I have Parallels-5 with Windows-XP Pro installed on my iMac (Snow Leopard).
I now want to upgrade to Parallels-6 and Windows-7.
    - Do I need to uninstall both Parallels and Windows?
    - Then install the new programs?
    - And should the installation be for 32-bit or 64-bit.
    Thank you.

I will try this and post my observation, so that others will know. [IMG]

I'm not sure I understand this - did you or are you going to post your observation. And what are you observing. Is the upgrade something you have done, heard about or seen done? I can't believe how difficult it is to get guidance from Parallels 'support'.

I have basically the same question. I have upgraded to Parallels Desktop 7 and have the files to upgrade my XP to Windows 7.
I cannot seem to get it to work. It consistently gives me a directory access error.

    Upgrading problems

This purports to be a Parallels Forum and is to be used in lieu of contacting the company itself. But I have yet to find help for this upgrade problem. I think I should have used Mac Bootcamp and never have invested in Parallels products. I am very disappointed in this company.
