    unplug all USB devices.
    attach GPSMap296
    sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext
if it fails, to unload -check up Mac OS , because it thinks it is storage device
    Attach to Windows, if success

Thanks John. I'm not an IT wizard, can you please explain what you have suggested above?

GPS devices have 2 mode as storage and as device
mac recognizes them as storage device by default
I suggested you to unload USB storage device when you connect GPS, and connect it to Windows, in this case Mac should unload hold device

Thanks. It isn't that. There is no evidence of the GPS on the Mac. The sudo command said it had failed and check up didn't see the device when connected.

It failed to unload kext that is the reason you cannot connect device to Windows
In use means mac OS holds it

I have the same problem with CANcaseXL

I get an error 10 device cant start

Ive tried an array of drivers from the site, but all have the same issues

This problem has a number of mac ( and Parallels copies ) hinging on this for our developers

    Anyone got any ideas ?

I am currently using Parallels Build 8.0.18314, i believe the latest at this time

    thanks
