Hi all. I recently purchased an iMac with Parallels 8 pre-installed and would like to have it on a separate physical disk in case I'd ever have to reinstall the OS on this machine (can you tell I'm coming from a Windows environment?). As a registered Parallels owner can I download the program to a CD or flash drive from the web or somehow just back it up from the original installation? So far I'm pretty impressed with the functionality of this app (Mac OS 10.8 - Win7 pro) Thanks for the help!

it should have come with a license key. keep the key and download the "trial" version from parallel's website. on the new mac it will ask for the key. enter the key and you're good to go.

Thanks Tony. This refurbished machine (from Gainsaver.com) didn't come with any documentation, much less key codes. Parallels has chosen to block them out of "help," "activate" and "about" menus, although it does say the app has been activated. I've put in a service request with Gainsaver to acquire the key code, hopefully they'll respond. I appreciate the input!
