Please help. I am at my wits end here.

I've been using Parallels for several months. One day, out of the complete blue, it refuses to find any connection to the internet. This happened about a week ago I believe.

My configuration or whatever is set to Shared Networks so that's not the problem.

I would submit a problem report but I don't know how. I was following these directions to do it:

click Start -> Run and execute cmd.exe. Type in the appeared window command "ipconfig /all" (make sure that all output fits to the window). Then, without closing the window, click Parallels Destkop menu "Help"->"Report a Problem", send a problem report (it is not necessary to provide description) and post here the report ID.

But I don't understand the "click parallels desktop menu "Help"->"report a problem" because there is no "Parallels desktop menu" to click on. I don't understand where that even is, because nothing is on the desktop for me to click except for "Parallels shared folders."

Tried the sudo killall command suggested by Stacey in a couple other threads, it did nothing.

Internet on mac side works fine.

    To Submit a report
select Parallels so that the Parallels menu is next to the apple on your mac (as a opened program)
    select Help
navigate down too Report a Problem select that
the next screen will tell you a report is being generated.
you can add your own comments, in the area provided
    next send report

Did that but when I clicked "send report" I got a small window that says:

"Unable to send the problem report.
Please check your network settings and try again. If the problem persists, please contact the Parallels support team for assistance."

I followed all the directions that I had posted but the "make sure that all output fits to the window" confuses me. All the text that follows after I hit enter for the "ipconfig /all" thing DOES fill the little black window, so I assumed that's all it meant.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong... Like I said all the internet is working fine on my mac side and the networking setting is set to shared.

I found this Knowledgebase article for you http://kb.parallels.com/en/8978

You should also check to make sure you have a MAC address in your VM (I removed my address from screen shot) each VM needs a unique MAC address for correct network functioning.

So I started trying the things on that page and then messed with the Shared option and changed it to the Wi-Fi option. And now the internet on Parallels seems to work fine again. Are there any negative aspects with using that wi-fi option..? Because I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned anywhere and am scared I am making my internet or network vulnerable somehow by using this easy fix. :/

There are no negative aspects at all - you may want to switch it to "default" instead of "wifi" so that you don't lose the internet connection when you go wired.
