I'm running WinXP SP3 in Parallels Desktop 6, on my iMac i7, OS 10.6.8. I'll be typing and suddenly the cursor will disappear and I'll get an error beep with the next keystroke. Then I have to click the mouse in the line to restore the cursor and continue typing. This happens constantly in an IE web-based program that I have to use, but also (to perhaps a lesser extent) in any word-processing document or field, e.g. in a Word document. The web-based software runs only in IE, so I can't try a different browser. It's extremely annoying. I'm running Windows in a window (not in Coherence). I checked to make sure I'm not accidentally kicking the mouse cursor out of the XP window, and I'm not. Is this a bug in Parallels? Would updating solve it? It's driving me crazy. /Mr Lynn
Hi MrLynn, it looks like you have an issue with Parallels Tools. Please reinstall it: http://kb.parallels.com/en/4841
I reinstalled Parallels Tools (using the Menu command). Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem. Most of the time I am entering text in database fields, if that makes any difference. However working on a regular Windows PC (also XP) I do not have the problem of losing the cursor and having to click in the field to get it back. So the problem is specific to Parallels. /Mr Lynn
