I recently acquired a new MacBook Pro and after creating a Windows 7 Boot Camp partition, started to install Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac. I was then told by my company that they would prefer I not run Parallels, so I tried to remove it from my Mac (I will give the copy to my daughter instead). The problem is: I am still finding bits and pieces of Parallels in the Windows machine (Boot Camp) almost every day. I found a way to remove the Parallels Tools from Windows (I think), but today found a Parallels "Shared applications" folder in the Windows StartUp folder. Later I found more Shared Applications under C:\Users\my.name\AppData\Roaming\Parallels\Shared Applications this was full of every application I have on the Mac side. QUESTION: How many of these hidden leftovers from Parallels are there and how do I get rid of all of them? I don't want shortcuts and pointers to non-available applications clogging up my Windows drive, nor do I want to have ANY .dll files or drivers messing around with Windows when I am not using Parallels on the Mac side at all. And before you ask: Since this is Parallels 8, there is NO "uninstaller"... according to the online documentation, I am supposed to simply remove the application from the Mac side and all will be well. But that apparently does not consider the Windows side, and things that are left behind. Please help!!
Uninstall Parallels Tools via Add/remove Programs. (like any windows program if you started removing the program manually the uninstaller will likely not work, IT IS common sense to look in Add/remove programs first. For it to work you'll have to install Parallels Tools again and then uninstall)
Yes I did this. Shortly after removing it from the Mac side, I found the note about deleting Parallels Tools from Windows separately. But now, having done nothing else, I am still seeing these extra folders (Shared Applications) and wondering what I can remove and what else was left behind!
