    Hi,

I am running an accounts package on Windows 7 within Parallels 7.0.15106, on a ML 10.8 Mac. Windows 7 does not have installed Excel, however the Mac does (Office 2011). When I try and export a excel table from the accountants package it gives me the follwoing errors:

    "Cannot create AcitveX component"

Then as a copy error log:
    Original exception type ApplicationException
Error = Cannot create ActiveX component.
    Call stack:
    at ExcelExport.ExportToExcel(DataSet ExportData)
    at frmImportExport.ExcelExport(DataSet dsSource)
    at frmImportExport.utbnRun_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)

I am sure I had a version of either parallels or the accounts package that let me export to excel via the Mac version. Is there anyway to work around the accounts package/Winods OS to making this work. (The accounts package is a small user base package called KEY that I suspect most people won't know).

    Thank you,

    Francis.

    Bump - Any views?

hi, I just saw your message--similar configuration and problem here. Were you able to solve this? In this case, I get an "object required" error when trying to create a new Excel spreadsheet from VB script. Thanks!

No luck. I installed Excel 4 to get around this. I am assuming whatever scripting the developers put in place must be trying to call some libraries of Excel to create sheet. I had hoped to find a way of creating it in the Mac ones via the Parallels sharing service. Work aorund of two versions of Excel on Mac works but is clumsy.

Any pointers would be great if you have them.
