When a VM is running, all inserted (music) CDs get only mounted by the VM (beta 6) ... so playing with iTunes while a Windows Install is running is not possible because the Windows CD player wants hijacks the CD ;D

Suggestion: do it as Virtual PC does: is the Paralles Application the front most, it should mount the CD, if its not the frontmost, the finder shoold do it.

VM hogging up the system, during HD access ...

As soon as you make a bigger install (e.g. Visual Studio) the disk IO kills the host!

Mac Book Pro 2 GHz here ... might be an issue with the slow internal serial ATA harddisk, however I would suggest an delayed writing, cashing, for the guest OS.

My compleeme machine is rendered unusable during such installs, can't even browse 7. or something ;D

    Regards,
    Angelo

Right click on the CD icon and disconnect it from the VM. The CD should then show up on the Mac.
