Should I upgrade to 3.0?
Just a reminder to everyone who is questioning whether Parallels was "justified" in charging for an upgrade to their software--Parallels has added major advancements to their product in the last calendar year, i.e. Boot camp support, Coherence, USB support, Transporter, Disk Utility, Compressor, Parallels Tools, Drag & drop, Etc. All of these features have have been added into the past upgrades--for FREE.
It's a software industry standard to charge for annual upgrades. As an example, I bought MS Streets & Trips several years ago and pay for the upgrade every year. Why...because I love the product and look forward to the new features.
Parallels Desktop for Mac 3.0 has some pretty cool NEW features including Snapshots, Smart Select, 3-D support, and Parallels Explorer. If you really want the new features, drop the dime and upgrade. If you don't really care, then stay with what you've got. If you want to test drive the new stuff before paying for it, then download the new software and get a free trial key.
No brainer!
