I recently used Parallels just to test drive Solaris 10. My hard drive went from 35 gigs to 29 something, however once I was done and deleted the Solaris VM my mac is now telling me that I have 34 gigs of space. Any idea what happened to the remaining space, and if so how can I recover that without getting rid of Parallels completely?

How did you delete the VM?

Look in ~/Library/Parallels (assuming you create your VMs in the default location) and see if there's a folder having the same name which you gave your Solaris VM. If this folder still exists, you can just drag it to the trash. If no such folder exists then the missing disk space is probably not Parallels-related.
