I have searched many of these threads but they are not exactly my situation. MacBook Air - latest updated OS Parallels 8 - just downloaded yesterday I installed Windows 7 via Bootcamp, that all works great. I can boot into Win7 and work there and have no issues whatsoever. When I try to install Parallel, I get the error messages that HD 1 can not be found and that there is no Operating System. I've been a Parallels user for many years and have never had an issue until I got this new MacBook and tried to connect it to my existing Win 7 install. I doubt very seriously its a Hard Disk issue, as I've seen in other threads. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you everyone.
So I guess I'll answer my own question here. What I ended up doing is installing Parallels v7. In that install, I got a different dialogue box that said "virtual machine not found", as opposed to Unable to Connect to Hard Disk1. So I clicked "remove virtual machine". Admittedly I had no idea what I was doing. That gave me another screen which allowed me to "pick" either a new Win install from DVD, external source or use Existing Boot Camp. I selected that and presto. It worked great. Now I think I'll try to upgrade to v8 and see what happens.
