I've scrambled a Windows file and would like to (hope to ) recover it using Time Machine.

Is this possible? Where does one find the windows drive images in the Time machine directory?

    Hi there,
You won't be able to recover a single file inside your Windows VM, but you can restore the whole VM if your Time Machine is set to back it up.
The default location for the virtual machines is Mac HD/Users/_your_username_/Documents/Parallels. Each VM has .pvm extension - that's the file you'd want to restore in Time Machine.

    Andrew,

Thanks for the directions. This procedure worked perfectly.

I did not find the .pvm file in the directory you indicated. Instead I found it by sa search on the file suffix ".pvm". The file "Windows XP.pvm" popped forth and I restored as you indicated. The file in my case was 210 GM so it ran quite a while but in the end all was restored.

    Thank you.
