I seem to have a problem - when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 the VM was 70GB. Today it now stands at 110GB yet I have added very little data. With W7 I just used to select reclaim disk space. However, every time I try to do the same with Windows 8 I get the message - Windows 8 doesn't take any additional disk space, Parallels could not find any additional data to compress or remove to free up the space used by this virtual machine.

Well the PVM file is growing somehow and I can't find a way to shrink it again. Parallels is up to date Parallels 8 for Mac build 8.0.18608

Any one else had/got this issue?

I may just have solved this myself.

I have opened terminal and entered the following -prl_disk_tool merge --hdd I have then gone into the PVM file then dragged the Windows HDD file into terminal. It's currently now completed 60% of the operation as I type and I can see the PVM file size dropping in Finder
