I have purchased Parallels 8 primarily to run Outlook on my Mac Book (i7/500Gb/8Gb RAM). However, Outlook is constantly trying to retrieve data from the Exchange server to a point where the program becomes unusable. I am using Outlook 2013 and I have uninstalled it and re-installed Outlook 2007 to no avail the same thing happens.

I have done the following- increased to 2CPU cores, memory at 2 Gb, and video at 1Gb. In Outlook I have reduced the mailbox size to less than 5,000. I also, created in a new VM this time running Win 7 reinstalled Outlook and same issues. Outlook running on a PC to my same work Exchange server is flawless so the issue is not on the other end.

Is anyone else having Outlook 2010/2013 problems like this? This has been driving me nuts since it is the main reason why I purchased PD any advise will be appreciated.

I guess I am the only one having these problems. Maybe I should reinstall Parallels? If no one else is having these issues could someone please tell me what their current configuration is for PD8 if you are running Outlook 2013.

Just curious if you resolved this. I am having similar issues with Outlook 2010 and Exchange Server. It's bad enough when I'm connected to the network at the office, but it's also to the point where Outlook is next to useless when I work over VPN from home. I'd try to do a fresh Windows install, but apparently my retail DVD is in my storage unit, so I'd love an alternative solution.

I have the same problem, but unfortunately don't have any fixes yet. I've reinstalled Parallels 8 several times (trying to do a "clean" install despite the lack of a good uninstall process) but still have the problem. I hate to completely rebuild the VM, but it's starting to look like there might be some corruption there that can't be easily fixed.
I have noticed, for whatever it's worth, that Outlook 2013 and 2010 do have some delay in retreiving data even when I'm in my office on my Windows 7 laptop. I'm still not ruling Parallels out as the culprit, though, since this was all running fine under Parallels 7.
I'd consider upgrading to Parallels 9, but there seems to be a huge number of complaints about it, with a lot of people going back to 8.
