    Hello
I am using Win XP Pro on Parallels 3214.
My mac os x time is set and is just fine.
But my Windows XP time keeps changing to the wrong time. I setup the Windows Time Server to keep it up to date every 1 min, but it keeps jumping back 10 hours.
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks
    B

When in XP, double-click on the Parallels icon in the taskbar. Go to "Time Synchronization" and make sure "Keep time difference between primary and guest OS" is not checked. Also double-check on the time, go to the "Internet Time" tab, and make sure that "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server" is not checked.

I am sorry I don't understand. I am in XP I do not see a parallels Icon in my taskbar. The ONLY place I see time sync is within 'virtual machine' configuration and the only option I have is how frequently. No matter WHAT I do my virtual machine time is wrong - I even went so far as to 'manually set the time on the VM and WITHOUT a reboot it still went to the wrong time.

    Please help.

I opened a support incident with parallels and was provided the following:

    http://www.mikebrittain.com/blog/2006/07/29/automatic-time-sync-in-parallels-virtual-machines/

Unfortunately I did not gain anything to solve my problem here - I am not synching with anything other than my MAC so I did not see the value in this article for my situation.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Ok I am 'retarded' really STUPID - any other words you can think of.

Here is WHAT WAS WRONG :)

I went back in to the time tool again and went to 'time zone' and guess what I was set to the WRONG time zone which is why only seconds after a manual update the time changed AGAIN - it was synchronizing to the mac but adjusting the time for the time zone I had - I obviously did not bother with the time zone during my initial install.

    Sorry to waste everyone's time.

I'm a new user of parallels 8 on my MacBook pro. I had a friend install it and at the same time install windows XP, 32 bit. The windows time in the lower right is always off by an hour or so and when I go through the sync to internet time steps it fixes it but only for a short time. Something I noticed when doing the sync is that the "apply" button is not accessible to me. I can see it in the background in light grey, but it is not an available option to click on. I've just been living with it for a couple of weeks, thinking I have a bad install of windows or something, but then today my wife and I were watching a DVD and the screen kept going to sleep after 10 minutes or so. I went to the power profiles and created my own setting so the screen wouldn't go to sleep at all, but it still does. I could really use some expert advice from you pro's. Thanks, in advance.
