I am trying to use a 10.7.2 install DVD image to create a blank VM, and I am receiving Problem ID 397. Is this a sign that my DVD image is not legitimate?

I am trying to use this step to install a 10.9 VM.

I would use the physical install DVD I have handy, except it's for 10.6, and that requires the host to be OS X Server, and I cannot afford that at the moment.

I have already successfully installed 10.9 on a blank hard drive image, but Parallels 9 Desktop won't let me boot it. It keeps giving me the warning about requiring OS X Server, even though that should not be required for guests running 10.7 or newer. VMWare Fusion 6 certainly didn't require any such thing to install it.

Do I absolutely have to buy the $19.99 OS X Server add-on to install OS X guests?
