Need RAM Recommendation

Right now I have 8GB RAM and don't plan on increasing that amount in the near future.

I will be running Mac OS X Mavericks, Windows 8.1 and Linux Mint 15.

I was hoping for some recommendations on how to break up the RAM. I will be using Linux for developing (apache, java programming). I will be using Windows for Office applications, .NET programming and Android Eclipse programming. I will be using Mavericks for web browsing, image and video editing.

Also, I will usually have all three OS's active at one time.

From my experience, I found that less RAM given to Parallels generally didn't hurt. In fact, giving too much RAM never helped, it actually slowed down both Parallels and OS X.

Here's settings I've been using for years.
- Windows XP: 256meg
- Windows 7 & 8: 1gig.
- Never had to give more than 256 video ram.
- Always leave on
