After a series of misadventures I was able to install Parallels 9 but now it will not recognize or see the disc drive. It give no error message, it just does not see it. In a previous attempt to install P9 i did get an error message that continued to ask me to install the Windows disc in the drive, but it could not find it. Any suggestions

    Hi RichardB333,

To connect your CD Drive to the Windows Virtual Machine, please follow the steps below:

    1. Open your Virtual Machine's Configuration:
    2. Click Hardware tab and click CD/DVD 1.
    3. In the "Connected to:" drop down menu choose Default CD/DVD or the CD Drive available.
    4. Check the "Connected" checkbox.
    5. Start Windows

To know how to get to the Virtual Machine's Configuration, please follow the link below:

I followed the steps as directed but the CD Drive still does not work. It now recognizes that there is a disk in the machine but it will not work with it or install it
