I have a decent GPU in my Mac. However, Parallels only lets me select 1gb of video ram. I know my games could run a lot better in parallels if 2gb was at least an option. Any chance this will be added in the near future? I do bootcamp once in awhile, but every so often I like to be able to quickly switch to my work on the mac in between a game session.
The option to set the video ram doesn't relate to the GPU as far as I know. The Parallels VM won't use the physical graphics card, it's all done through software using the Parallel drivers, and I believe the RAM you set it saying how much of your system RAM can be used by the video card, similar to when you have shared graphics in a system and it uses a portion of the systems memory. As far as I know the above is true, and the physical card isn't available directly to windows, however I could see no reasons they couldn't enable more, maybe in their testing it had no benefits.
