I have a Win7 VM set up to share drives with my Mac.

I have some applications set up to open files on the VM via the shared folders, but sometimes the share folders come up with different names.

When I open Finder and look at the top level, I see that the Win7 C:\ drive is currently shared as mycomputer:C:

Other times after I reboot the VM, the share will come up as mycomputer:[C] Dev Environment: ("Dev Environment" is the name of this VM)

This causes havoc with the applications that are set up to read from the VM since sometimes when they fire up they can not find the path to the files they are looking for. It seems to randomly pick what name it is going to use after a reboot of the VM, a reboot of the OS, or when turning off/on sharing of the drives.

I am running the latest Parallels 9. Any help would be most appreciated.

    adding note:
I just did a share disconnect all/connect all and the C drive came back as mycomputer:C:, but the D drive is now mycomputer:[D] Dev Environment:

    Hi sfroberts,

To know how to assign drive letters to the mapped Mac drives, please follow the below article:

That is not the problem. The problem is the Windows drives mapped _on_ the host. When mapped, the Windows drives change names between sessions causing problems on the Mac.
