there is an article http://kb.parallels.com/en/115040 that talks about changing the virtualmachine.pvm config.pvs file to stop the trackpad from bringing up the windows 8.1 charms when the heal of your right hand hit's it wrong. The problem is I can't find the PVM file anywhere. It says it's usually in ~\documents\parallels but there is nothing in there even when I make sure I'm showing hidden files. So I'm just as stuck as I was and this is incredibly annoying.
Hello BillPennock, The default location of .PVM file would be : Documents -> Parallels Folder or User's -> Shared -> Parallels Folder If you are not able to locate the .PVM file on both the locations, please follow the steps given below : 1. Open Parallels Desktop, do not start the Virtual Machine. 2. Right click on the Window which says " Windows 8.1 click to start " and select the option Show in Finder. 3, It will automatically re-direct you to the location where the Windows 8.1.PVM file is located. You may refer the knowledge-base article for more details on how to find the Virtual Machine : http://kb.parallels.com/117333 Once you find the location of Windows 8.1.PVM file, follow the steps as suggested at : http://kb.parallels.com/115040 and check how it goes !!
Thank you, that worked perfectly, both finding the config file as part of the PVM contents and changing it to get rid of the annoying gesture. I did find a specific node for one finger swipe so that is the one that I switched to 0. Not sure if there are other gestures that are still enabled if this one is turned off.
