Windows 8.1 restart causes host computer to reboot

    When I attempt to restart Windows 8.1, it causes my iMac to restart as well. This happens every time. Has anyone else seen this?

    Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac Build 8.0.18615
    Virtual Machine: Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center
    Host Machine: OSX Mavericks 10.9.1

    I moved back to Windows 7 and it seems to be pretty stable. I never did get to the bottom of the issue with Windows 8.1 even after filing several issue reports with Parallels to which I never heard back...

    Hello Ahwman,

    Please try to create an empty Virtual Machine and transfer the hard disk of the original Windows 8.1 VM to the empty one as suggested at: http://kb.parallels.com/121578 and check how it goes !
