I'm getting messages that "Windows - Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low."

To fix this, I tried going to Parallels Preferences. I switched the memory limit from automatic to manual, and tried setting the memory limit at the middle setting, as well as pushing it about 3/4 of the way to the low limit and 3/4 of the way to the high limit.

I also tried to enable virtual memory preallocation.

Those changes have had no effect.

    What else should I do?

    MacBook
    2 GB memory
    Parallels build 4128
    XP SP 2

    Thank you.

Install build 4560, although it has memory problems on the Mac, it doesn't have memory problems in the VM. Ironic I know. It will atleast load your VM and run it.

How to correct Virtual Memory Problems in Windows XP on Parallels

I spke with a tech support rep at Parallels a little while ago. The problem has been solved. The problem is in Windows not Parallels. The fix is as follows:

    Within Windows:

    1. Control Panal
    2. Select SYSTEM
    3. Select ADVANCED
    4. Under "Performance" select SETTINGS
    5. Select the ADVANCED tab
    6. Under Virtual Memory press CHANGE
    7. Select the Radio Button CUSTOM SIZE
    8. The initial size should be 768. The maximum size should be 1536
    9. VERY IMPORTANT!!! Press the SET button.
    10. Press the OK buttom
    11. Press the next OK button.
    12. Press the next OK button.

Step 8: This will produce a large enough Virtual Memory Paging File for Windows to operate compentantly.
Step 9: If you do not press the SET button the changes that you attempted to make will not be made. You will need to start over again.

Does this approach work with expanding drives? I don't have that much free space (and Windows tells me so!).
