I'm just installed Ubuntu 13.04 under Parallels 9.0.24237 on a new Mac Pro (Mavericks 10.9.4). I was somewhat surprised that the desktop that is displayed is media/psf/Home/Desktop rather than /home/myaccount/Desktop. How do I change this? Thanks!
Let me restate the problem: When I updated Paralles (9.0.24237) and did a fresh install of Ubuntu on my new Mac Pro, I found that the desktop space actually maps to /media/psf/Home/Parallels/Desktop rather than simply /home/Parallels/Desktop. In other words, if you drag a downloaded file or something to the desktop, it is not where you expect to find it on the command line. Similarly if you create something under /home/Parallels/Desktop it doesn't show up on the desktop. The same thing holds if you create a new account; the desktop is reflection of /media/psf/Home/username/Desktop rather than /Home/username/Desktop. This seems like a serious new bug. I do not see this behavior with my Mac laptop where I simply updated things. Is anyone else experience this problem? How did you solve it?
