    Hi there,

I've looked all over and maybe my problem has something to do with Parallels.

First off, I'm running xp home edition on my macbook through the latest parallels build (4560). I'm not having any problems with getting internet access either at home or at work.

What I would like to do is be able to see my home network when I'm at home through my xp VM.

I have set up both computers (home desktop - which is pc running xp home, and macbook - running vm of xp home edition) with the following:

Both computers have the same Workgroup name and password.
Ip address for the desktop is xxx.xxx.xxx.3
Ip address for the macbook is xxx.xxx.xxx.2
    Router Ip is xxx.xxx.xxx.1

File and printer sharing is on, with allow exceptions checked in Window firewall
A test folder on both computers are set to share.

For simplicity sake, both computers are wired, not wireless.

Any help with this would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Happy

I'm not sure you should assume this is a Parallels problem, as networking is crippled in XP Home. Are you using Bridged or Shared Networking for your VM? Can you ping the VM from a machine on the local network and vice versa?

It's shared networking and I haven't been able to ping it yet.
