    transporter error

Any news on this? I'm having the same issue. I have run through the uninstall and reinstall steps, checked for snapman.sys in the driver details, and in Class Upper Filters. I only have this problem when trying to transport a remote win2003 machine, sp1 or sp2. I downloaded the Parallels-Tsp-3.0.1260-Win.exe from the website, used the same installation file to install on all machines, so they are both running the same version. From XP pulling from 2003, it fails. 2003 pulling from an xp machine, works fine. 2003 pulling from 2003 machine, it fails. Only when trying to transport a 2003 machine does it come up with this error:

"An error occurred while Parallels Transporter was collecting information about source computer. Make sure Parallels Transporter Agent is running and is not involved in other migration process."

    Transporter fails for me too....

    SETUP:

    HOST: MACBOOK PRO
    2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo
    2 GIGS 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    OS X 10.4.10 (latest updates)
PARALLELS TRANSPORTER (TRIAL) BUILD 1260 (7/17/07)
PHYSICAL CONNECTION: FIREWIRE 6 -PIN CABLE (MAC) TO 4 - PIN FIREWIRE (PC)

    -----------

    TRANSPONDEE: COMPAQ nw8240
    2 GHz INTEL CENTRINO
    2 GIGS OF RAM
WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL W\SP2 (latest updates)
PARALLELS TRANSPORTER (TRIAL) BUILD 1260 (7/17/07)
PHYSICAL CONNECTION: FIREWIRE 6 -PIN CABLE (MAC) TO 4 - PIN FIREWIRE
    ------------

    ISSUE:

Same as previously mentioned issues. Uninstalled Parallels-Tsp-3.0.1260-Win.exe, restarted PC. Reinstalled Parallels-Tsp-3.0.1260-Win.exe, restarted. Mac Transporter will not see volumes on PC. Is this due to it being a trial download? Do I need the entire Parallels Workstation installed on PC, or will the Transporter work on its own? I do not see "snapman.sys" in either my WINDOWS\System32\drivers directory, nor under my Device Manager > Disk Drives > Details > My HDD > Class Upper Filters. I have reinstalled Transporter more than 3 times to no avail. What is the deal?

Please provide us with Transporter log files on vireports@parallels.com with subject 'Transporter Problems' to investigate this problem more detail?

Log files of Parallels Transporter and Parallels Transporter Agent locate on:

    Mac: <home>/Library/Logs/Parallels/transporter_cl.log

    Windows: %TEMP%\Parallels Transporter\transporter_xx.log
    for example,
    for Windows XP, 2000, 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\<Usr name>\Local Settings\Temp\Parallels Transporter\transporter_xx.log
    for Vista: C:\Users\<Usr name>\AppData\Local\Temp\Parallels Transporter\transporter_xx.log

Some how I got it to work! Here is what I did:

I uninstalled Parallels-Tsp-3.0.1260-Win.exe when I was logged on to my Windows XP Professional OS (*I was logged into the AD domain I created for the company I work for). I then logged in as a local administrator (no domain). I then reinstalled Parallels-Tsp-3.0.1260-Win.exe, rebooted and relogged in as the local admin (no domain) once again. I next went to my MacBook Pro and tried Transport (same version. Firewire option). I immediately received an error (new error), that basically said something like: no connection, error. I unplugged the 4 - pin firewire cable from my PC and plugged it back in, tried again on my Mac to no avail. I unplugged the 4 - pin firewire cable one more time and replugged it in and immediately, much to my surprise, received a "Migrating" message on my PC! I then saw the blue progress bar begin to slowly fill on my Mac. This was all done yesterday. Today I came in and the Mac showed that the import was successful! The VM of my PC runs FLAWLESSLY on my Mac! That is very, very cool! I swear, I was just about to throw in the towel! No guarantees - but give it a try.

    Network Question:

Okay, I'm a newbie trying for the first time to transport from WinXP SP2 to Mac, but before I can even get to the above problem, I have a dumber question to ask. I don't have a network set up at home, only individual Ethernet connections to the Internet. Do I have to set up a network between Mac and WP computers before I can even Transport my Windows computer into a new Mac? Can I link through the Internet? Or through a network cable directly?

I thought it was the latter case, but even after installing on Mac, downloading on Windows, and following instructions, the host computer sees nothing in the box for source.

    Suggestions, please.
