I have Build 4124 on a macbook, with XP installed. when I start a Parralels session, the XP opens and stuck on the login screen. I am asked "this copy of windows must be activated with Microsoft before you can log on. Do you want to activate it now?". in both cases, if I press Yes" or "no", I return to this login screen. sending CTR+ALT+DEL key is not helping. Previously, It worked fine. I don't know what happened that got me to this situation. I tried to uninstall Parralels and to upgrade it. The Copy of the XP is legal, but it was previously installed on my PC, which currently is offline. what should I do? should I install XP again? if so, how is it done?
Same issue I am having the same issue installing XP on parallels workstation, were you able to solve it?
Why don't you call Microsoft? Their products stink, and their activation process is horrible, but they probably have the answer. P.S. I had to use my activation key 3 times on the XP on my mac, due to problems I had when I was first installing parallels on the mac. All was working fine for a while, but then, out of the blue, windows told me I had 2 days to enter the activation key. And my product key didn't work. What the he##? After a number of restarts and restores and parallels preference changes and whatnot, it stopped asking me. *Sigh*
windows activation loop I'm running a trial of parallels and tried to use the automated install for windows xp pro. That failed so I went to the activation screen, called Microsoft, got a valid code and entered it. XP tries to log off saving settings and then the display shows: This copy of windows must be activated before you can log on Do you want to activate windows now. When I choose Yes, it says windows is already activated, and the same loop starts over again. I'm wondering if the automated process paralles uses to install it is still running and does that cause this problem. Is everyone reporting this problem using the automated install? richard
