I have Parallels 9 running on my Mac with openSUSE 13.1 and life has been smooth until I upgraded the guest OS to 13.2.
The display resolution dropped to 800x600 because Parallel Tools cannot be installed. Reaching out to the support team I was pointed to http://kb.parallels.com/en/122662 and told that Parallels doesn't support 13.2, but the page was last updated on Sep 30th.

Can someone from Parallels confirm when will Parallel Tools be upgraded to support openSUSE 13.2?

PS. I took a quick look at the shell script and I feel it is just a matter of supporting the latest Xorg which prevents the Parallel Tools installation.

I have the same problem. Hard to believe that there is still only this lame response from Support to go to http://kb.parallels.com/en/122662 (which by the way, does not provide any consolation or direction). I went through this exact same hassle with Parallels 8 and a previous version of OpenSUSE before a patch was made available some months later. It has therefore been a hard and costly decision that I've had to make, but I have now switched to VMWare Fusion 7 Pro and it is working splendidly with OpenSUSE 13.2. Despite this, I'm still somewhat biased towards the looks-and-feel of Parallels, but with this repeated issue with what now appears to be every upgrade of OpenSUSE, I will learn to live without Parallels Support team's "don't care" attitude.

I'm planning to buy Parallels or Fusion but I have the same problem with OpenSUSE 13.2 (Parallels evaluation). When will solve this problem? Thanks

    Enrico,

You will have to wait. The problem is not resolved.

    John,

I too like the look and feel of Parallels more than VMWare. That's the only reason I've been upgrading from 8 to 9 and now considering the next version. But this time I will have to seriously consider upgrading since I'm not satisfied with the response. Also if you're saying you had a similar situation earlier, then every six months I'll have to go through the same process for supporting future OS upgrades!

I just upgraded from Parallels 9 to version 10 and the Tools installed flawlessly for OpenSUSE 13.2 in Parallels 10. It seems rather unfortunate that the Parallels Team would have created a solution for the Tools installation in Version 10 and completely ignore the problem for those of us who were still using Version 9. That is just soooo cold!!!
