    Hi D C,
Please follow the steps as suggested at : http://kb.parallels.com/4729 to install Windows XP in your Parallels Desktop.
In step no : 4, please uncheck the option : Express installation and check if you are able to install Windows XP in your Parallels Desktop.
If you are still facing issues in installing Windows XP after disabling the option : Express installation in step no : 4, please try with a different installation media
for Windows XP SP 1 and that should help you to resolve the issue.

    Hi D C,
Cold you please provide us the screenshots of the Blue screen Errors and it would be great if you can provide us the steps to reproduce the issue (1,2,3...). Also, once you reproduce the issue, please provide us a problem report ID here: http://kb.parallels.com/9058

I have had exactly the same experience. Followed above instructions with same blue screen results. Your system will not upload the screen shot ("too large".)

UPdate: someone pointed out (asserted?) that an OEM copy of XP will be tied to the original machine and can't be used to load XP onto a different machine.

However, this will not cause a blue screen, technically what can happen is the failure to activate Windows.

Any solutions found? Because I'm encountering the same problem here and would't know how to install XP from a different medium.

    Hi All,
In order to check with the issue while installing Windows XP , please stop the installation of Windows XP.
Restart the installation of Windows XP as in the KB article http://kb.parallels.com/4729 , at step 6, please enable "Customize settings before installation"
Then click on Continue and select Hardware --> CPU & Memory --> Under CPU , choose "1". Close the Window.
And continue with the installation and check how it works!
