I recently had to re-install OSX Yosemite. Apparently the update I did earlier this month formatted the hard drive incorrectly. I was getting the spinning beach ball often and the system was running very slow. Since having Apple techs install Yosemite correctly, and using my time-machine to re-install the rest of the system, I've been working on getting parallels and windows back up. Each time I opened windows I saw that there were updates. I would shut it down and a few updates would install. The most recent set of updates is 186!! The system has been installing update 164 for about 5 hours now. I'm running a MacBook Pro from mid 2012 with: OSX Yosemite version 10.10.1 8 GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 2.6 GHz Intel core i7 Parallels 10 Windows 7 home premium the CPU load of the Windows update process seems to be fluctuating between 10 and 13 % - substantially more than anything else running. There are no other applications open. Any ideas what is going on? Can I intervene? Thanks, David
This issue appears to have resolved. Apparently the system actually needed 12 plus hours to install that update. I haven't seen that before.
